Mentra is a structured performance system designed to help athletes understand how they behave under pressure, make better decisions in key moments, and build long-term stability as expectations rise. It creates a shared, practical language between performers, coaches, and parents—removing guesswork and replacing it with clear behavioural insight. Through a guided process of awareness, insight, and ongoing practice, athletes learn to recognise patterns in their performance, protect decision quality in high-stakes environments, and develop consistency across sport, school, and life.
The programme is led by Ben Cullen, a highly respected performance tennis coach who has worked extensively in player development, supporting athletes through the transition from junior to elite environments where pressure, expectation, and consistency become critical. Alongside him is Joe Sayers, a former England international cricketer and County Championship-winning opening batsman with Yorkshire, who competed in some of the most demanding environments in world cricket and is now widely regarded for his work in leadership, culture, and performance development within professional sport. Together, they bring a rare combination of coaching expertise and lived experience at the highest level. For Trident clients, Mentra adds a powerful layer to physical coaching—equipping athletes not just with skill, but with the tools to think clearly, communicate effectively, and perform consistently in high-pressure, high-expectation environments.
